Photographer Joseph Ford and expert in “camouflage” knitting Nina Dodd have put in more hours than is practical designing custom jumpers (for people, dogs, and even bananas) that seem like they belong in places like bus seats, shrubs, carpets, and coastlines.
“I enjoy the challenge of identifying visually striking settings, selecting models who complement them, and utilizing Nina’s knitting expertise to integrate them as smoothly as feasible,” Ford stated to The Independent. I’ve spent days or weeks researching and planning each of these photographs, and Nina has knitted for weeks or even months on each one.
This entertaining series is now available in a new book from Hoxton Mini Press, a popular independent publisher. With photographs showing twenty-five knitted things, tales, and behind-the-scenes pictures, it even has an introduction written by renowned writer and gallerist Laura Noble. Dare we say it, one to put on the wish list for Christmas gifts?
